Thank you to everyone involved in the recent Tesco Winter Food Collection.
A staggering 2,800kg of food was donated by generous Widnes shoppers to us at the Tesco Extra store in Widnes over the three days.
The event ran from the 28th to the 30th of November.
We were blown away the kindness on display. Including instances of full trolleys being donated, children getting involved in donating and one kind gentleman even bought our volunteers some sweets to thank them. It was lovely to speak to so many of our generous supporters. All donations of both food and money will make a real difference to people in need in our local community.
As well as the enormous amount of donated food, donations of cash totalled £555 and this will be added to by Tesco who donate 20% of the value of the food collected. This event has provided us with a huge boost, as we face into the festive period and the cold months ahead.
