Eat@TheHeath is a great community initiative aimed at targeting loneliness and social isolation of Halton Residents. They run weekly events – 3 Wednesday’s each month. They have a drop in session between 11:30am & 1:30pm – during this time they offer limitless tea & coffee and multiple different types of cake .They offer quizzes, cards games, board games, dominoes & usually have a game of bingo.  They have a craft table & shortly they will be starting to make  Christmas Gnomes & possibly some wreaths.  The cost is £2.

On the last Wednesday of the month they offer a subsidised 2 course meal (again with limitless tea & coffee) & entertainment / activities at a cost of £3 but this must be booked in advance. They also have live entertainment. They are hoping to introduce a pick up & collection service for those people who have no transport.

They also offer a number of exercise classes that are suitable for “older people” – twice a week they run a Nifty Fifty’s exercise class – there are 2 sessions on a Tuesday & 2 sessions on a Thursday.  These are gentle exercise classes which are suitable for all – people can exercise from a chair if they wish.  The gym instructors play music from the 60’s they all have fun doing some kind of exercise & a lot of them finish the class & go for a coffee in the café.
