The Widnes Foodbank Christmas food appeal launches today – here’s how you can help

Volunteers from Widnes Foodbank are launching an appeal for donations of festive food items this Christmas.

This year the local foodbank charity is requesting donations of non-perishable food items which could be used to make a Christmas dinner, and items with less stock in the warehouse. Items on the seasonal shopping list include tinned meat, tinned potatoes and tinned veg amongst other festive items such as non-alcoholic Christmas goodies.

Anyone wishing to donate to the Christmas appeal is encouraged to check out the special shopping list online, pick up as many items from the list as they can, and then donate at one of the many drop-off points around town.

In addition to the appeal for Christmas food the foodbank is also encouraging anyone who wishes to donate Advent calendars to do so before 10th November. This means that the Advent calendars have time to reach us and be distributed to our clients ahead of December.

We are truly grateful, as always, for the support shown to us by our local community. Your support is helping us to put food on the table, and right now this is a vital lifeline for many.
