Launching our 2021 Christmas Food Appeal and the return of our Christmas Colouring Competition

2.4 Tonnes of Food Collected at Tesco

CalendarPosted on 8th November 2021

At Widnes Foodbank we are encouraging the people of Widnes to “make this Christmas different” by supporting our work this festive season.

Today we launch two donation drives as part of our 2021 Christmas Food Appeal. The first appeal is for the local community to donate an item or two from our seasonal “shopping list” of items which can be found on our dedicated Christmas page. This appeal will be running until 7th December.

The second appeal is similar to that of a Reverse Advent Calendar, which have proven a popular way to support foodbanks in recent years. This appeal is called “Donation a Day”.

As part of Donation a Day supporters can download our special calendar here and donate the item listed daily to our foodbank. This appeal runs between 12th and 23rd November.

The Donation a Day appeal requests a daily donation of a smaller item or a small monetary contribution.

Anyone wishing to drop off their donations can find our list of food donation points on our website. Alternatively, if you have a large bulk donation to make (i.e. as part of a local school, church or business), you can also book a collection online this year.

Besides our food appeals our popular Christmas Colouring Competition also makes a return for all local under-11s! Any children wishing to take part can download our Christmas cracker template, colour it in and decorate it, and submit it to us by 11.59pm on 13th December. There will be prizes for the best, but for more information on how to enter, and to download the template, please see the dedicated competition page.
