An update following our May 2021 Annual General Meeting

At the AGM of Widnes Foodbank held on Tuesday 11th May Revd Mark Harwood was elected as a Trustee and Revd Peter Dawkin and Clare Bedford were re-elected as Trustees.

The AGM noted that the COVID-19 pandemic had created a number of challenges for Widnes Foodbank, but notwithstanding such challenges Widnes Foodbank had continued throughout the pandemic to supply food to clients, who had received a Foodbank voucher from one of its 83 referral agencies, and to other local agencies sharing the same ethos.

The AGM expressed its gratitude for the continued support of the public in Halton, who have increased their donations of food and money during the last twelve months, and for the continued involvement of the volunteers, who help run Widnes Foodbank.. Halton Borough Council has continued to be a strong and consistent supporter of Widnes Foodbank.

Prior to concluding the AGM the Chair thanked Councillor Eddie Jones, who has for many years provided advice and assistance, which has been invaluable in the development and operation of Widnes Foodbank. In the last twelve months Councillor Jones has helped Widnes Foodbank to access significant external funding and to implement its plan to improve its storage capacity.Councillor Jones has been key in developing and maintaining the good relationship, which Widnes Foodbank now has with Halton Borough Council.
